On 30 September Jacob Clausen, a lecturer from University College Copenhagen gave a talk on Social Education and the role of pedagogues in Denmark. Professionals dealing with children of 0-6 years are called pedagogues in Denmark. They facilitate the children’s socialization and transmit cultural norms with the following focal points: Personal development, Social development; Communication and language; Body, Senses and movement; Nature, outdoor life and science; Culture, aesthetics and community. The pedagogy of young children is activity-based giving abundant opportunity for spontaneous, child-initiated activities.
Jacob Clausen’s lecture provided a good opportunity for our students and lecturers to compare the trainings and the practices of early childhood and preschool education in our countries.
